What is textile design:

Textile designing is simply the specialized and creative process of producing a functional, flexible, and ornamental fabric. Textile design is formed from three major disciplines, mixed media cloth design, printed cloth design, and woven cloth design, each of which utilizes separate ways to manufacture a surface ornamented fabric. Textile Design practice has evolved into an integral industry to other disciplines like – fine arts, fashion, and interior design.

Importance of Textile Designing:

Designs of textile are generally indicated in the structural style of the material. Textile designs are normally embedded in the fabric. After a design is created, it is not possible to swap it.

The designs are embellished on the fabric through the use of yarns of different colors. The use of single color yarn as well as different colored yarns creates variety in the design of the fabric. This makes the dress look more attractive.

Printed textile design:

Printing fabrics textiles are produced by the arrangements of various colorful printing procedures for cloth or fabric namely – relief printing, transfer printing, screen printing, resist printing, digital printing, and rotogravure. These procedures use various colorful dyes and inks to imprint attractive, often repeating styles, motifs, and patterns onto the cloth or fabric. Printing textile designers are inextricably and primarily involved with fashion, paper industry, interior home designs, and the clothing industry.

Woven textile design:

 Woven textile design is the design that is done on the fabric through the yarn when weaving this fabric. This is usually done by making brackets between warp and weft yarn. It is also used in the case of the original ground pattern of the cloth.

 Mixed media textile design:

Mixed media textile designs are put together by employing embroidery or other different fabric manipulation techniques similar to packing, appliqués, laser cutting, and pleating. Quilting is used to consolidate the warmth and sequestration of a textile.
